The Three Faces of Eve Wearable Arts Exhibition

May 13 - June 26, 2022

Playing off the 1957 American film title that unveiled and dramatized dissociative personality disorder, the id, ego, and superego become unfettered and multiple personalities are exalted in 5 Points Art Gallery + Studios’ second wearable arts exhibition, The Three Faces of Eve. The exhibition opens Friday, May 13, 2022, 7 p.m.(CST) with an inaugural runway fashion show, which will be in-person and live-streamed and be amplified by live DJ’ing by JC Hanna.

Due to the unforeseen and unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, 5 Points Art Gallery + Studios’ first wearable arts exhibition in 2020, This Is America: The Stitching, an extension of the gallery’s annual This Is America group exhibition, was an in-person fashion show turned hybrid recorded and live virtual broadcast of over 30 ingenious wearable designs by 20 artists of color, radically demonstrating the global concept of stitching together America’s divisive landscape.

Genius, however, hasn’t been left in 2020. This year’s The Three Faces of Eve wearable arts fashion show and exhibition shifts the focus from the external environment to the internal, with brilliant outward representations of the self by 16 artists. This diverse cohort of artists have each produced three distinctive avant garde wearable renditions of their work, embodying a different personality, mood, identity, or further.

Featured Artists: Anne Bouie (Washington D.C.), Bridgett Artise (East Orange, NJ), Chloé Allyn (Appleton,WI), Eden Jusma (New City, NJ), Ellen Wagner (St. Louis, MO), Fatima Laster (Milwaukee, WI), Joya Jean (Park Forest, IL), Kierston Ghaznavi (Milwaukee, WI), Kiki Jia Qi Zhen (Long Beach, CA), Martina Patterson (Milwaukee, WI), Melissa Dorn (Milwaukee, WI), Pamela Graham (Milwaukee, WI), Rhonda Gatlin-Hayes (Milwaukee, WI), Ruthie Joy (Milwaukee, WI), Sheila Miller (Milwaukee, WI), and Valaria Tatera (Milwaukee, WI).
