We Black in Every Timeline
November 7 - December 21, 2025
5 Points Art Gallery + Studios culminates its seventh year of exhibitions with a group show that stave the historic and au courant cultural erasure with futuristic manifestations of Black existence. Friday, November 7, 2025, 6-9 p.m. (CST) four Milwaukee artists— Jared Davis (aka DJ Turtle Sooup), Kierston Ghaznavi, Manny Vibez, and Warren Harrington— disrupt the prevailing acts of expunction and whitewashing to profess We Black in Every Timeline. Mashing reality with surrealism, the artists in We Black in Every Timeline bridge historic diasporic representations with multiversal afro-futuristic identities. From the quixotic dreamscapes imprinted on Ghaznavi’s newest wood carvings, an extension of her recent 3:33 solo exhibition at The Jazz Gallery, to Vibez’s documentation, through vividly colored paintings and plushy-textured conceptual installations, the impact of life’s trials and tribulations on children, viewers are sure to take a trip through thought-provoking realms.
“Limerence Soup” the poem that catalyzed the Japanese-inspired mixed-media power shrines by Harrington, newest artist to exhibit in 5 Points Art Gallery + Studios, coupled with “The Spades”, DJ Turtle Sooup’s 3D-printed collectibles of Black television tropes reincarnated as superheroes, re-instill dignity and prowess to Black depictions.
While the collective works presented in We Black in Every Timeline mirror escapism and fantasy, they continue to set grounded precedence, unapologetic visibility, and unbounded genius in worlds created to exclude us. These multi- dimensional productions remain on view until Sunday, December 21, 2025. We Black in Every Timeline’s in-person artist talk starts at 7 p.m. (CST) during the opening reception.
